INSECT BITES

If just a few bites and except for pain and itching the patient feels well, place a cold compress (ice or frozen peas) on the bites if troublesome.

Antihistamine tablets available without prescription from any Chemist may make them less itchy, but discuss with your doctor/pharmacist if you are taking other tablets at the time. If you can see the hooked barb in the bite, remove it with tweezers.

Bites in the mouth or throat can be very serious. Also if previous bad reaction or blisters/rash appears on another part of the body. Discuss with a doctor in these cases.
