BURNS & SCALDS
Apply large amounts of cold water to the affected area as soon as possible to minimise longer term damage, and maintain this until the pain subsides. This may take 20 minutes to disperse the heat.
If the skin is unbroken, but blistered, apply a loose dry dressing. If the burn is longer than 4-5 inches in diameter, the skin is broken or the skin has turned white or black or the face is affected, go to your nearest Accident Dept as soon as possible. The burn area may feel numb.
