|
There are five part-time Registered General Nurses working at all of our three surgeries. They are available by appointment (or telephone) for many services including dressings, contraception (NOT coil or cap fitting), removal of stitches, injections, blood pressure tests, , cervical smear tests, travel advice & vaccination, childhood immunisation, heart disease, asthma and diabetic monitoring . They are supported by Healthcare Assistants and Technicians who also take bookings for blood tests, blood pressure tests, ECG's and New Patient Checks.
The District Nurses have their office at St Michael's Surgery and visit patients in their own homes performing various nursing duties and offering professional advice to housebound and postoperative patients. They work very closely with the doctors and other team members such as MacMillan Nurses.
They can be contacted directly on 01452 520987.
The health visitors have their office at St Michael's Surgery, are Registered General Nurses with additional specialised training in family health. They are a very useful and important source of help, advice and support for young families and teenagers, and are usually available at the surgery between 9 & 10 am to provide telephone advice. They also work closely with our midwives.
