Contraception

There are many different methods of contraception. Your GP will discuss your choices with you to find the type that will work best for you.

At Hadwen Medical Dr Naish, Dr Young, and Dr Whitham are qualified to fit coils, and Dr Hitchen is qualified to fit and remove implants. If you wish to book an appointment for a coli or implant, either discuss it with your GP or make a telephone appointment with one of our nurses.

Contraception is free for most people in the UK and allows you to choose when and if you want to have a baby. The only way to help protect yourself against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is to use a condom every time you have sex. Other methods of contraception prevent pregnancy but don't protect against STIs.
